First Base Videos and Drills (2 videos)

First basemen, please watch the videos and do the drills as much as you can. When finished, text your name and the title of the drill to 513-400-4529.

 

Footwork Drill: Have someone throw you 20 balls where you have to step in different directions to catch them.

 

Picking Drill: Take 20 balls in the dirt using the backhand method as outlined above whenever possible. Sometimes you will need to forehand if the ball is to your left (for right handers), but you can step so the ball comes to your right most of the time.
